T1 Happenings

  1. Have I mentioned T1 has a girlfriend? I think I have...  Well, they're still going strong. That is, if you call strong never hanging out, talking on the phone, texting, etc... I think they're basically good friends in cross country. I'll take it.
  2. T1 got all A's the first six weeks, but he got a low test grade in one of his classes that almost tripped him up. Glad he pulled through!
  3. He wants to run a half marathon so we've been training together. We're up to 6.25 miles and are hoping to run 7 miles this weekend. Hopefully, the weather will be on our side.
  4. Bye bye 5-finger vibrams -- T1 has a new favorite shoe. Sanuks. He's been obsessing over them, so we took him shopping this weekend and he bought a pair using his birthday money. Turns out they are so comfortable that even I gave in and bought a pair.
  5. Attitude. While not a major problem, he has exhibited quite an attitude at times lately. Payback for how we treated our parents when we were that age, I'm sure...

T2 Happenings

We had our first conference with T2's kindergarten teacher last week and were pleased to have her share that he is smart and well-behaved. He's learning how to read, spell, count (he made the "100 club"!), and add. Somehow he's also learning sign language, although his teacher didn't mention this so I'm not sure if that's a school thing or an after-school thing. He appears to be thriving, so we're happy.

One of his favorite things to do lately is color and make paper Yoda's. He wakes up thinking about and asking for paper so he can make them (can you say obsessive? sounds like T1...). He makes big ones and small ones. Check them out below. He's playing with paper, colors, and scissors so much that we moved our old kitchen table (the one that was on our deck) to the boys' bedroom so we could keep all the art supplies in that area of the house and not spread out every where else. He loves it!
